Quilted Tamarack Jacket

The Quilted Tamarack Jacket is perfect for spring and fall layering. You’ll stay toasty thanks to the inner layer of cotton or wool batting, while the roomy welt pockets will keep your belongings safe and your hands warm.

The Quilted Jacket Series using the Tamarack Jacket pattern by Grainline Studio. There are so many options for this jacket to make it uniquely your own! Pattern available in sizes 00-30.

Due to the extensive nature of this project, this class is covered over 4 class sessions:

  • Session 1: Design planning and fit; rough pattern cutting
  • Session 2: Finalization of layout and quilting of each piece
  • Session 3: Jacket construction and binding
  • Session 4: Jacket finishing

In this series, you will learn how to read the pattern and additional options, review the pattern construction tips and tricks and make your selection of options. Collaboration with the Teacher on making adjustments not pre-patterned are allowed. You will learn about quilting garments in addition to garment construction. Although you do not need to be proficient in each skill area, you should be proficient in one of the two skill sets - quilting or garment construction - in order to keep up with the class overall.

PLEASE NOTE: Each session is three hours long and will require homework after each session. It also requires a home sewing machine capable of sewing through multiple layers of thick fabric. If you are unsure if your machine can handle this type of project, you have the option of using our classroom machine, the Baby Lock Presto II.
