Classroom Policies


To reserve your spot in any class, register in person at our store, online, or over the phone. Classes are paid at the time of your registration

Class Supplies and Preparation

It is the responsibility of the Student to visit our website and review the class listing for details regarding supplies needed for a class.

Class Project Supplies

For an additional cost, most classes offer a kit, which includes most supplies needed to help make your class preparation easier. Any supplies purchased at Mr. Sewing Machine during or after a class (excluding that specific class kit) includes a 10% discount.

Class Preparation

If the Instructor has requested any pre-work for the class, please make sure that you have completed all necessary parts. If you are unable to prep for class as outlined on the class description, you may still participate in the class but the instructor will not be able to hold up instruction to help you catch up. Late Arrivals

All classes will begin and end at the scheduled class time.

Students arriving more than 15 minutes past the scheduled start time will not be allowed to participate in the session. There are no refunds on the class fee or exceptions to this policy. The corresponding class kit can be refunded in this scenario, if purchased.

Cancellation Policy

A Student may cancel their class registration via email ( or by phone at 214-358-3549.

Cancellations with more than 72 hrs notice prior to class start time

Cancellations with over 72 hours prior notice may request a full refund in the original form of payment or request a transfer to another class. PLEASE NOTE: Only one transfer of a class registration is allowed.

Cancellations with 24 hrs notice prior to class start time

Cancellations received before 24 hrs of class start time will receive shop credit to be used toward another class. PLEASE NOTE: Only one transfer of a class registration is allowed.

Cancellations with 24 hrs notice prior to class start time

Any cancellations that occur less than 24 hours prior to the class will not be refunded or transferred. There are no exceptions to this policy.

Kid's Classes

Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up

Student drop-off may not be dropped off earlier than 5 minutes before the scheduled class start time. Students are required to be picked up within 5 minutes of the scheduled class end time. If you are going to be late to pick up your child, you must call the store and let us know before the class end time. You will be assessed a $5.00 per minute fee for anytime beyond the 5 minute grace period.

Classroom Access

Only registered Students will be permitted to remain in the classroom during scheduled class hours. Non-Student visitors will not be accommodated.

Student Code of Conduct

Parents and guardians understand that by signing up their child for a class, they are acknowledging their child will not be a danger to themselves or others during class time and that their child is mature and responsible enough to follow class safety rules at all times and are required to be respectful to each other and the Instructor. Disruptive Students will not be allowed to stay in class, and parents may be contacted to pick up their child at the first sign of any disruptive behavior. In such cases, class fees will be forfeited.

Students who cannot safely handle sharp and dangerous tools should not be registered for class. Sewing involves the use of straight pins, needles, sharp scissors, rotary cutters, hot irons and sewing machines that can all cause bodily injury.

General Classroom Policies

Mr. Sewing Machine LLC shall not be responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged property or belongings.

Although our Instructors will make every attempt to manage the pace of a class, we cannot guarantee Students will finish the class project in its entirety during the allotted class time.

Photography: Mr. Sewing Machine LLC may take group and/or individual photos (and projects) of those participating in classroom activities for use (without identifying information) online and in any physical or digital marketing materials. All Students agree that their picture may be used by Mr. Sewing Machine Sewing Lounge LLC without granting any additional permissions and without compensation.

All Students acknowledge that attending a class or event at Mr. Sewing Machine LLC involves certain risks and that injuries, death, property damage, or other harm could occur to the Students or others. Students accept and voluntarily incur all risks of any injuries, damages, or harm which arise during or result from attending a class or other event at Mr. Sewing Machine LLC regardless of whether or not caused in whole or in part by the negligence (simple and/or gross) or other fault of Mr. Sewing Machine Sewing Lounge LLC and/or its affiliates, employees, officers, agents or insurers.
