Palette 11: Creating Machine Embroidery Designs with a Hand Embroidery Look
With 40+ hours recreating the designs on our Mirabel dress, there was a huge focus on using specialty threads and specific techniques in digitizing to master this look. Come learn techniques that were used and create your own design with these effects!
In this class, you will learn how to use Palette 11 to select, create, or modify designs that lend well to creating a hand embroidered design. In addition, you will learn how to machine embroidery with thicker threads such as 12 wt Spagetti threads and wool threads. You will also learn how to create a simple run stitch that is very thick for use with 40 wt threads that can still appear as hand embroidery stitching.
PLEASE NOTE: You will need to come to class with your own computer, embroidery machine, a 5" x 7" hoop and 3-4 colors of embroidery threads. There will be additional threads in the classroom for sampling techniques.
If you do not currently own Palette 11, we will guide you through installing a demo version on your PC Windows computer. Please note that you will be able to finish the activities presented in this class but will not be able to save these files to test stitch on your machine. Only a full license will enable you to save files in a digitized format for your sewing machine.
