Pattern Drafting Part 3: Creating a Skirt and Pants Sloper

You have complete slopers to cover the top half of an outfit so now it is time to develop a sloper for the bottom half. In this class you are going to make both a skirt sloper and a pants sloper.

The skirt sloper can be used to make a variety of skirts or attached to the bodice for a one piece dress. The skirt sloper is then further developed into a pants sloper.

In this class you will learn how to take detailed measurements from the waist down and plot them on paper to create slopers.  You will also learn how to measure inseams and what adjustments you need to make to lengthen or shorten the inseam. You will complete a skirt sloper and a pants sloper, talk about how to add seam allowance and the need to sew a muslin to check the fit.

The class may run out of time to sew, please anticipate on having homework.
