BYOC (Build Your Own Cosplay) Part 1: Character Design and Planning
Are you ready to start your first Cosplay or Costume character or do you have a design in mind that is a little outside of your comfort zone? Join us as we help guide you through the process of planning out and designing your own cosplay!
In this class, you will learn how to select patterns that are closest to the needs of your character. In addition, you will explore various fabrics that are appropriate and the associated sewing tools and notions you will need to complete for the project. You will also learn the skills that are needed for construction and and what classes will help you build key skills to fill gaps. By the end of this class, you will have an action plan to get your project in motion!
You will need to bring reference photos, drawings and any additional ideas and desired modifications to your character.
PLEASE NOTE:
- There is no construction in this class. Construction is covered in Part 2 of this 3 part series.
- Each class instance is unique based on the challenges of every project brought in by students. As such, this class may need to be repeated to fully plan out a costume depending on complexity.
- In many instances, other classes may be required to learn sewing skills needed to complete a project.

Cancellations with more than 3 days prior notice may request a full refund. Cancellations received 1 - 3 days before the class will receive credit towards another class. Any cancellations on the day of the class cannot be refunded or transferred. |
