Intro to Hand Embroidery

The art of hand embroidery since ancient times within every culture and continues to be one of the finest mediums for creative fabric art in sewing. Learn five basic embroidery stitches, tools, and techniques to get you started. 

In this class, you will learn five basic embroidery stitches, hooping techniques, common supplies, transfer and finishing methods, and how to start and manage projects from beginning to end.

Materials Included:

All materials needed for this class can be purchased for an additional $20. If you opt to only pay for the class, you will need to bring to class:

  • 8 inch Embroidery Hoop
  • (1) pack of Hand Embroidery Needles
  • (6) Skeins of embroidery floss
  • (1) Water Soluble Marking pen
  • (1) Fat Quarter (quilting cotton or linen, light color)

Additional items you will need but are offered at classroom stations include:

  • Fabric Marking tool

Cancellation Policy

A Student may cancel a class registration via email ( or by phone at 214-358-3549.

Cancellations with more than 3 days prior notice may request a full refund. Cancellations received 1 - 3 days before the class will receive credit towards another class. Any cancellations on the day of the class cannot be refunded or transferred.
